The summering Common Eider hung out Saturday afternoon at The Cove (Mt. Vernon Street). Ring-billed gull numbers greatly increased over the week. Toward dusk, dozens of Bottle-nosed dolphins were herding the baitfish toward the shallows where they (the baitfish) broke the surface causing a multi-species tern feeding frenzy.
